“I used Laura to buy my first house and sell my existing condo. When I bought my condo, I did it without an agent, so this was my first experience with the whole process.
I loved working with Laura. She was very personable and I always felt like I was her only client. I was on a pretty tight budget when buying my house, so there were several times I got pretty discouraged, but Laura never gave me time to wallow- she just kept sending me more listings, making more appointments and kept insisting that my house was out there and we would find it! She also kept reminding me not to settle, because this was going to be the biggest purchase of my life.
When I did find my house, she let me know that she felt the house was overpriced, and we could try going in at less than asking and make it conditional on a house inspection. When the conditional offer was signed, the house inspector (which she was able to provide a reference for) found the house was in need of some serious work- including a new roof. Laura was able to go back to the owner and argue them down further on price, and in a matter of days had saved me about $15,000 on the price of the new house. All I had to do was sit and wait for her to call and find out how low she could get them to go.
After I had signed off on my new house, Laura went straight to work selling my condo. I was a little nervous because it was getting close to Christmas and Laura had warned me that the market usually died off around the last two weeks of December. She walked through my condo with me and gave me some tips on how to stage it. I took a couple of days to make the necessary changes and within a day or so, she had my condo listed in a number of different real estate publications and had a link to my MLS listing on her email signature. She also set up an open house and a date to take all of the offers in one night. Not only did Laura have my condo sold in less than a week, she was also able to sell it for about 10% over asking- which was also the highest any condo similar to mine had sold for in my building.
